- Amounts are not published in these City lists, so none are shown. We do not estimate them.
- Winners are copied as printed, including the City's spelling. Panel tenders can have many winners. A name that wraps onto two lines in the PDF may appear as two lines here.
- Some rows on page 2 of the March 2026 list use a layout we could not split into columns reliably. Those rows are shown exactly as printed and marked See PDF.
- Listing an award is not a suggestion of wrongdoing. Corrections: support@mkweli.tech.
Why only Cape Town so far
South Africa has no single complete list of who won public tenders. National Treasury's eTenders portal shows the winner for only about 1 in 5 finished tenders (Awardee count, 12 October 2026). Treasury itself says its award data "is not comprehensive", and municipalities and state-owned companies are not obliged to share data with Treasury.
Municipalities must publish their awards on their own websites (MFMA Circular 83). In practice the lists are scattered across hundreds of sites, usually as PDFs in changing formats, often late or incomplete, and many municipalities publish nothing (Dullah Omar Institute study). Cape Town publishes a regular monthly list, so we started there.
Coming next, one at a time and only where the format is stable: Nelson Mandela Bay, Mossel Bay, Ekurhuleni, Mangaung, then large state-owned companies.
