Contract variations (extra money added to an existing contract without a new tender) are a major public-spending question in South Africa. This page shows what National Treasury's eTenders open data (OCDS) can and cannot tell us about them today. Short answer: the public bulk data contains no amendment records, so the variations themselves are not visible. What we can show is where the published contract value differs from the published award value.
